Mat is currently working as an oil and gas analyst and reporter in Doha, Qatar. In September Mat completed a Masters in International Political Economy at the London School of Economics where he specialised in energy and environment and Latin American politics, economics and development. Having traveled to China in September 2009 he is currently looking for work in London and overseas. Prior to his studies Mat worked as a project manager and analyst for a leading emerging markets research and consultancy firm. During this time he completed three seven-month projects based on the ground in Egypt, Bulgaria and Turkey. Between September 2003 and July 2006 Mat lived in South America working as a journalist, tour guide, English teacher and rugby coach.
